Adam Driver’s parents are Nancy Wright and Joe Driver. His parents do have a huge impact on his career. Adam Driver Biography
Born in San Diego, California, on November 19, 1983, Adam Driver is of Dutch, English, German, Irish, and Scottish descent. His mother’s family hails from Indiana, while his father’s family originates from Arkansas. Driver grew up Baptist and sang in the choir at church.

During his teenage years, Driver described himself as a “misfit.” Inspired by the movie Fight Club, he and his friends founded a fight club. He also engaged in dangerous activities such as climbing radio towers and setting things on fire. After high school, he worked as a door-to-door salesman selling Kirby vacuum cleaners and as a telemarketer for a basement waterproofing company and Ben Franklin Construction.
Following the 9/11 attacks, Driver enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2001. He served for nearly three years before being medically discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal after fracturing his sternum while mountain biking.

After leaving the military, Driver attended the University of Indianapolis briefly before being accepted into the Juilliard School’s Drama Division in 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009, having struggled to adjust to life outside the Marines.
Driver moved to New York City after graduation and appeared in several television shows and off-Broadway productions. In 2012, he landed a role in the HBO series Girls and received three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He also played supporting roles in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln and Noah Baumbach’s Frances Ha.
Driver’s breakthrough came in 2014 with his role in Hungry Hearts, for which he won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival. He also played Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and received praise for his performance. Other notable roles include a supporting role in Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special, a 17th-century Portuguese Jesuit priest in Martin Scorsese’s Silence, and the lead role in Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson.
