When his mother remarried United States Air Force Sergeant Gary Barnett, they had to move to Arizona, Phoenix. In fact, Errol went to Westview High School in Arizona and then to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He later worked at a movie-focused channel, Reelzchannel, until CNN hired him shortly.
